Empowering Growth — From the Inside Out

Who I work with...

You’ve always been capable, reliable, and someone others depend on to get things done.
But as your responsibilities grow, so can the pressure that comes with them.

You might be:

excited to be stepping into a more senior or visible leadership role, and feeling the weight of responsibility

navigating challenging conversations or senior stakeholders whilst questioning how best to handle them

finding it difficult to balance ambition with your wellbeing

wanting to lead with clarity and confidence without constantly over-extending yourself

Coaching offers a space to pause, think, and recalibrate.
Together, we focus on strengthening your leadership presence, communicating with greater confidence, creating more sustainable ways of working, and moving toward progression without losing yourself in the process.

How I can help

Coaching with me is a space to pause, think deeply, and move forward with greater clarity and self-trust.

Drawing on organisational psychology, relational frameworks, and solution-focused coaching, I help you understand not just what is difficult, but why certain patterns keep repeating — particularly in leadership, and professional relationships.

Through our work, you can expect to:

strengthen your leadership confidence and decision-making

feel more at ease engaging with senior stakeholders and complex dynamics

develop sustainable ways of working that protect your wellbeing

shift from carrying everything alone to working with clearer boundaries and shared responsibility

pursue growth and progression without losing yourself in the process

Sessions are reflective and practical — offering both space for insight and gentle challenge to experiment with new ways of leading, communicating, and showing up.

Blue Ascent Psychology

About my work

At Blue Ascent Psychology, I support thoughtful, capable professionals to understand and shift the relational patterns that impact their confidence, boundaries, and wellbeing.

The people I work with are outwardly successful and dependable. They have often learned to adapt quickly, anticipate others’ needs, and take on significant responsibility — strengths that have helped them achieve and be trusted, but can also lead to over-extension, self-doubt, or difficulty switching off.

Over time, this can show up as pressure to keep performing, challenges setting boundaries, or a sense of carrying more emotional or professional responsibility than feels sustainable.

My coaching helps clients step out of people-pleasing and over-functioning, develop healthier boundaries, and create relationships — both at work and in their personal lives — that feel more balanced, respectful, and supportive.

I bring a blend of psychological insight and practical, forward-focused coaching to help clients feel more grounded in themselves, communicate with confidence, and move through leadership, relationships, and growth with greater clarity and self-trust.

About me - Katherine Davis

I’ve always been fascinated by people — why we think, feel, and relate the way we do. That curiosity led me to study psychology at the University of Glasgow, before building a career in organisational psychology across both public and private sector organisations, supporting performance, leadership, and development through a strong focus on relationships and human behaviour. I later completed a Master’s degree in Organisational Psychology, deepening my understanding of leadership, change, and workplace dynamics.

As my work increasingly centred on leadership development, I trained as a coach in 2011 and gained accreditation with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). Coaching offered a way to combine psychological insight with practical, forward-looking change — helping capable professionals think more clearly, navigate complexity, and lead with greater confidence and authenticity.

During this time, I was introduced to Transactional Analysis (TA), a framework that continues to shape my understanding of relational dynamics, communication, and leadership. In 2025, I completed an Advanced Diploma in TA, further strengthening my ability to support clients in recognising patterns, developing self-awareness, and creating more effective ways of relating and leading.

I am a member of the British Psychological Society and UK Association for Transactional Analysis, and I engage in regular supervision to reflect on my work, continue learning, and ensure my practice remains ethical, thoughtful, and effective.

My approach combines psychological depth with practical strategies. I aim to create a calm, reflective space where clients feel genuinely understood whilst also being appropriately challenged — supporting growth that is both meaningful and sustainable.

Why Blue Ascent Psychology?

Blue Ascent Psychology is shaped by both professional expertise and lived experience.

Growing up in the Scottish Highlands as someone of mixed heritage brought a deep awareness of belonging, difference, and adaptation. From an early age, I learned how to observe, adjust, and work hard to fit in — strengths that helped me navigate the world, while also creating patterns I have spent many years understanding and reshaping.

This experience continues to inform my commitment to equality, inclusion, and relational awareness. It influences the way I support individuals, leaders, and organisations to recognise unconscious assumptions, navigate difference with greater sensitivity, and create environments where people feel able to contribute without over-adapting or losing themselves.

Nature also played an important role in shaping Blue Ascent. Growing up surrounded by mountains, rivers, and open landscapes instilled a sense of perspective and resilience — the understanding that growth is rarely linear, and that meaningful change often involves patience, courage, and persistence.

More recently, learning to surf has reinforced this idea in a different way. It is humbling, unpredictable, and sometimes uncomfortable — much like personal and professional growth. There are moments of frustration and uncertainty, alongside moments of alignment, confidence, and flow when something shifts and a new way forward becomes possible.

Blue Ascent Psychology brings these threads together: psychological insight, relational awareness, inclusion, and sustainable growth. It reflects my belief that development is not about striving harder, but about understanding yourself more deeply, relating more consciously, and moving forward with clarity, confidence, and integrity.
